You need to apply for two accounts: import and export. These are independent processes.
I recommend applying for an import account first, and then applying for an export account once that is completed. The reason is that you only get the 16.5p export rate if you are an Eon import customer.
Applying for export was a bit of a nuisance because you do indeed need to provide all of the paperwork again.
It would be better for all concerned if some sort of certification could be agreed between the power companies so that were unnecessary.
