Snow and ice on top of my solar panels.

Day 3 of sunshine….but no power

Wish I had easy roof access.

can you get one of those telescopic brushes? I think they can go up to 25 feet

Alternatively, lob some snowballs up there, once you create a small gap and it starts generating electric, it should heat up the rest of the panel to melt it

Maybe the installers should start thinking about installing some resistive heaters under panels. 5 minutes on and you can start producing again.

Opening up your loft hatch is a silly idea.

The heat escaping via a loft hatch will not be sufficient to penetrate through the roof tiles, jump the gap between the roof and panel, and warm up the panels to such an extent that the snow will melt.

My boiler is in the roof.

The frost melts on the panel above it hours before the other ones.
