Slipped / cracked tiles on replacement roof
Hi All,
I have three slipped tiles and a cracked ridge tile plus some gaps on the gable roof section between the under-cloak fascias after a roof replacement. No obvious leaks yet but how urgent is it I get the tiles and fascias replaced?
I’ve been renovating a dilapidated bungalow for a year now and one of the big jobs was having the roof replaced because the battens were rotten and dormer conversion leaked (I also had a velux window added).
The problem is the roof was supposed to be sound so was an unexpected five-figure cost to replace it. I had to go with the cheapest quote and sure enough the ‘you get what you pay for’ saying came true. The roofers did the job but there are three slipped tiles and a cracked ridge tile and wonky gaps around the dormer where it was re-clad plus in a couple of places nails miss the timbers and puncture the membrane… I simply can’t afford to have it all done again. Unfortunately they disappeared off check-a-trade and the phone numbers for them no longer work. Nothing check-a-trade can do apparently.
