Ideas for extension and loft conversion
Hello all,
We currently rent this property from a family member.
The opportunity to buy has come up and we’re wanting to look at what options we have to adjust the layout and go in the loft.
It’s probably not our forever home, as we would like more land.
It’s in a good area and will hold its value.however we don’t want to over capitalise.
We had thought about
A) open the kitchen into the side bedroom and making a kitchen diner and patio doors into the garden – then 2 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.
B ) section on the lounge / dining area
Then opening up half the hallway, kitchen and dining room to make that a big open space as the hallway a huge and wasted space.
The garage is much lower than the house so can’t open up that way without having to raise the roof etc.
Would love any other options / ideas / inspo
I’m sure there is a lot we haven’t thought about.

“Well you said it’s not your forever home”. I will advise you to spend minimum and in return get more value of the house. How about leaving everything as it is just try to convert garage into a room and where the store is make it a bathroom and the space of Hall between kitchen and garage cover it all and attach it with the house, the two doors in the hall front and back shut them off and the door to this room bring it straight infront of Porch door, so the door which is in the middle of kitchen just bring it in a corner of the kitchen to the left hand side. I think just to do all this it may cost you 100k and only by changing this your property value will go up by having additional Bedroom!! so it will be clarified as 4 bedroom house and you will get double as you paid for it and this is only if it’s not your permanent house otherwise you can make anything you like…Good luck with your plans.
