Can someone advise on the best tool to use to measure roof size from ground level for solar panels?

    Binoculars.

Count columns and rows of tiles.

    Look up the tile specifications.

    Use calculator app.

(Tip: write down your workings so you can double check

Drone with 3d map or use Google earth is normal not too far off remember you need to leave room around them

Roofsnoop works ok, but for it to be reasonably accurate you need to input the roof slope angle. Satellite imagery can be patchy in some places too.

There’s no substitute for getting up there on a ladder with a laser measure!

Have a look at google earth and its measuring tool. Is worked well for me.

Some of the solar websites also have roof measuring apps.
