I’m after maintenance advice/experience for bathroom – we have bought and are planning to install black tray and black/glass screen. But now I’m wondering if that was the stupidest idea giving we have quite hard water (water filter planned in the future due to future planned works). What is your experience?

Would you recommend not doing it? I’m quite a clean freak and worry about fighting with limescale marks for the rest of my life… (photo as an example). I’d rather sell the set on than install and regret it.

The reality is you will be fighting limescale… however if you stay on top of it you will be okay. We leave in the South east so wipe all the taps; hose and absolutely everything down- all the nooks and crannies-dry it every time after shower- using quick dry cool little towels. Spray shower screen stuff and squeegy. Then give it a big clean when it needs it with limescale remover. Also wax on taps helps. For us it was worth it but if you leave it… it becomes a big pain!!

So we also have this with very hard water. If you’re a clean freak, just make sure you use the right cleaning products and it’ll be fine. Seriously, it will. And the water filter will help immensely.

If you’ve got kids and work full time you’ll wish you never got them I thought a cleaner would help but they literally say they won’t touch them (just in case they ruin them I guess/ they know they won’t be able to get the limescale off)…

If you have time to spare after everyone in the house uses the shower to dry everything off then maybe ok…
